Battered Women's Support Services

You can help us to empower women and strengthen communities by making your gift to BWSS today. Just click on the "donate now!" button and make your one time gift, or for your added convenience, you can join the Circle of Strength monthly giving program to give a recurring, monthly gift to support our work.

Your donations are used to provide counseling, support groups, and legal advocacy to women experiencing abuse, volunteer and community training, and prevention programs for children and youth.   These programs not only help individual women and children to heal from the devastating effects of violence and trauma, but also transform our society into one in which all violence against women is unacceptable.

You will receive a charitable tax receipt for 100% of your donation to BWSS and because we respect your privacy, we will never trade, sell or otherwise divulge your name and contact information to other organizations.

What does your donation provide? Here are some examples:  

•  A gift of $25 provides training and support for 1 volunteer to staff our crisis line for 4 hours

•  A gift of $50 provides childminding services to enable 4 women with children to attend a support group

•  A gift of $100 provides a dating violence prevention workshop for 30 high school youth

•  A gift of $200 provides transportation and childcare subsidies so that 10 low-income women can access counselling

We have partnered with Canada Helps for our on-line donation transactions in order to reduce our administrative costs so that more of your donation goes to providing direct services to women and children.   For more information about Canada Helps, visit their website at www.canadahelps.org.
