We are excited to be the community partner for The Cultch’s presentation of Hot Brown Honey, playing the York Theatre from January  9th to January 27th!

We love that Hot Brown Honey is all about phenomenal women celebrating the power of the female voice, pushing boundaries and defying labels. The all-female crew, cabaret-style show from Australia takes on gender, sexism, colonialism and race, while giving a feminist twist on circus, comedy, hip-hop and burlesque.

Fighting the power never tasted so sweet!

The crew from Australia from Aboriginal Australian, Maori, Samoan, Tongan, Indonesian and South African backgrounds call out the patriarchy in this theatrical spectacular and social activism.

At BWSS we believe that artists are at the forefront of social and political change, they provide awareness that helps shift the way society sees social issues and lead others to take action. BWSS is pleased to collaborate with artistic movements involved in social change. Artistic expression gives shape to thoughts, feelings, and ideas and often helps communicate, educate, and inform the rest of society.
