Strategic Interventions
Strategic Interventions is rooted in a Decolonizing, intersectional feminist analysis of violence against girls and women. Each training and event delivers content, as well as, provides an opportunity for advocates and frontline workers to gather together, network, share common experiences, learn from each other, and strengthen the web of support within our communities, support empowerment of women while working for social, institutional and systemic change.
Training is offered in person, over the phone and online, often in partnership with local community groups and organizations. Our trainers and facilitators are established, knowledgeable, experienced and skilled in development and delivery of skill based training workshops grounded in strong theoretical frameworks and current research.
The women who founded Battered Women’s Support Services in 1979, recognized the importance of public education and training for social change. Training and public education are at the heart of our organization and key to our work to end violence against girls and women. For over 30 years, Battered Women’s Support Services has delivered training and education workshops across sectors and regions in Canada.
