Why We Gather
Nearly half of all girls and women in British Columbia have experienced intimate partner violence.
This year, the BC government declared gender-based violence a national epidemic. For those of us who see the impacts every day, this is not new rather it’s an emergency that reaches into every home, every workplace, every neighbourhood, and every community.
On November 25, we gather under the light of resilience — to honour survivors, to celebrate hope, and to carry forward the work of change.
This event marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women — the first of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence observed around the world.
“This is a night to celebrate our collective strength and power the movement for safety and justice”
An Evening of Strength and Connection
“This is more than a dinner — it’s a night of resilience, courage, solidarity, and transformation.”
Highlights:
- Chef-crafted waterfront dinner
- Keynote Speaker — to be announced
- Stories of courage and leadership from women reshaping the future
- Silent & Live Auctions with celebrated auctioneer Howard Blank
- Music & Dancing with DJ Angela
“Together, we’ll fill the room with courage, heart, joy, and justice.”
Your Impact
Your ticket does more than buy dinner — it saves lives.
Proceeds from A Celebration of Resilience will:
- Keep crisis lines open when women and girls need them most
- Provide legal advocacy for survivors navigating the family courts
- Fund safe housing for those leaving abuse
- Train frontline workers and first responders — and prevent femicide
Every ticket, every table, every donation helps build the safety net survivors in BC need — and deserve.
“Your seat at this table helps build the system survivors deserve — one built for her to thrive.”
