Our Impact

Battered Women’s Support Services provides education, advocacy, and support services to assist all women in its aim to work towards the elimination of gender based violence and to work from a feminist perspective that promotes gender equity.

BWSS responded to 94,736 requests for services from March 1, 2020 – March 31, 2022

In just one year we significantly increased our impact and capacity to support women, girls, and gender-diverse folks. Our community response is as follows:

6,283 calls answered between March 18 and June 30, 2020

28,430 Volunteer hours

3,183 participants took part in our 159 community workshops

Volunteer Training

We increased our training sessions from 2 to 3 sessions in 2020.

In our largest cohorts yet we trained a total of 143 volunteers online.
