Battered Women’s Support Services Commemorates 35 Years of Women’s Leadership to End Violence against Women
In 1979, Battered Women’s Support Services was founded by a small but determined group of women. Thirty-five years later and much has been achieved in the effort to end violence against women. On November 25, 2014, celebrate our combined efforts, strengthen our shared vision through conversations with friends and colleagues. Help raise money for Battered Women’s Support Services upcoming work in the areas of service delivery, legal advocacy and systemic change.
Keynote Speaker: Bif Naked
Bif Naked has pushed the boundaries of acceptability since day one. Her screaming loud creative has never been muzzled as she has unleashed a continual and seemingly endless string of blazing live performances, recordings, videos, quotes, sound-bytes, spoken word, and visuals that have established Bif Naked as one of the most acclaimed and interesting performers to grace the rock stage. Bif Naked continues to a strong commitment to women’s empowerment and the leadership of women’s organizations who lead the way in ending violence against women.
MC: Jill Krop
Jill Krop is a Canadian television journalist and one of the Global BC anchors and is currently, the host of Unfiltered on BC1. Jill Krop is an excellent MC and has supported community organizations through hosting BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, Influential Women in Business Awards, Gold Georgie Award Winners 2003, 2005 BC Export Awards Gala, and most notably co-hosting both Variety Club Show of Hearts and The Children’s Miracle Network Telethon, aired on Global BC.
