At the urging of a coalition of women’s organizations including Battered Women’s Support Services, Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre and Wish Drop-In Centre Society, the City of Vancouver undertook a gender equity analysis. That process has involved an number of steps. Vancouver City Council, at its meeting held Tuesday, January 16, 2018, received a presentation from staff on the above-noted matter and referred the report to the Standing Committee on Policy and Strategic Priorities meeting. Today, January 17, 2018 the committee will hear from speakers, beginning at 1:00 pm at City Hall in the Council Chamber on the third floor.
