Sisterhood Swagger Runway Show Is In Effect At Vancouver Eco Fashion Week

VANCOUVER, B.C. – My Sister’s Closet is running the collection show of funky, fresh thrift, vintage, and eco fashion style at Vancouver Eco Fashion Week 2013. As social enterprise of Battered Women’s Support Services, My Sister’s Closet generates funds for critical services for survivors and violence prevention programming for youth while it is empowering local women artisans, supporting sustainable fashion and offering a safe community space. Sisterhood Swagger Runway Show is bringing their ending violence efforts to Vancouver Eco Fashion Week.

As a community thrift boutique and social enterprise of Battered Women’s Support Services, My Sister’s Closet, is participating in Vancouver Eco Fashion Week 2013 to encourage the apparel and textile industry towards more responsible ways of designing, manufacturing, distributing, marketing, and selling their products and at the same time inform and inspire the sustainable-minded consumer on their approach to using and disposing of their clothes.

Sisterhood Swagger Runway Show was born from the empowerment of women and their fashion dreams to end violence against girls and women. My Sister’s Closet’s style and designs move through a continuum of new, thrift, vintage, upcycled artisan and eco fashion. Style inspiration in this collection is all about the swagger of empowerment; an embodiment of the diversity of the left coast where the mountains meet the sea and where Toronto, Montreal, New York and Paris lean in to learn more.

Sisterhood Swagger Runway Show will take the stage today, April 24th at 6:30 pm at Robson Square.
