From July 15 to September 15, Join Sweat to Support Survivors
Across British Columbia, women and children are navigating safety from domestic violence every day. Calls for support continue to rise, with many facing legal, housing, and financial barriers simultaneously. Sweat to Support Survivors is one way to respond, together.
How to Participate in Three Simple Steps:

1. Choose Your Activity
Move your way—walk, run, yoga, roller-skate, hike, or create your own wellness ritual.

2. Register
Sign up solo or as a team. Set a fundraising goal that feels meaningful to you and get access to tools to share your “why.”

3. Fundraise and move
Share your journey. Inspire your circle. Raise vital funds for BWSS services that help survivors reclaim their lives.
Why Your Movement Matters
Every dollar you raise fuels critical services for survivors:
Crisis and support lines responding to thousands of calls each year (or 40 calls a day)
Legal advocacy for women navigating family, criminal, and immigration systems
Counselling and support groups for survivors
Safety planning for survivors facing ongoing risk
Employment services for economic independence
Transition house for safety and transformation
Together, these services are lifelines for women and children escaping domestic and intimate partner violence.
Where it All Began
Sweat to Support Survivors was launched in 2020 by Lucy MacDonald, a dedicated community member moved to act during the pandemic’s surge in gender-based violence.
What started as a personal act of movement has grown into a collective force for wellness, justice, and change.

Your Impact
In 2025, 230 participants raised $50,837. Our goal is to raise $60,000 this summer. With your help, we can continue to provide survivors with life-saving services.
