An abuser will use body language, verbal communication, and aggressive actions to create fear and control over a woman. Certain body postures and gestures, looks with the eyes or the hands will say it all that harm may come, that it can be done so she better be careful, that she better watch out or else. An abuser often destroys property around her like throw the phone near her head or cut up her clothes to intimidate her and instill fear so that she is then under control.
“He had guns and would show me the guns every now and then to make sure I knew that he can use them on me at any time. He controlled me and if I did not agree with him or follow his orders he only needed to show me one of his guns and that was it, I followed”
