Since 1979, thousands of survivors have benefited from BWSS crisis line, support groups, counselling, legal advocacy and training.  Every day, those living with violence and fear for the future for themselves and their children call or come to BWSS for safety planning, support groups, crisis intervention, accompaniment, court support, information, referral, employment programming, lawyer referral, trauma-informed counselling and outreach.

None of the work at BWSS would be possible without the tireless efforts of volunteers, staff, donors and community members. Together we have worked to create social and systemic change and to support survivors of violence. This is a time for us to reflect as a community over the last 40 years, what has changed, what we have achieved and what needs to be done to continue the effort of ending gender-based violence.

Join us November 25, 2019 as we reflect and commemorate the last 40 years of our combined effort…
