My Sister’s Closet (MSC), eco-thrift boutique is all about fashion for social change.
Volunteering at MSC provides girls and women with volunteer experience which increases esteem, confidence, and employability. It will help you master your skills in customer service, communication, and team work.
There is also opportunity to learn about visual presentation and styling. Are you good with accessories and props? Creative? Then you will love this aspect of volunteering. Store windows are only one of many options for visual presentation. Volunteers can sign up to be part of our social media team, this means specifically styling other volunteers as models, styling flat-lay photos for our social media.
Your shift at the store will be with other like-minded women and girls, coming together as a team working on the floor, providing customer service, working at the cash register, sorting and pricing donations and styling mannequins.
As a social enterprise of Battered Women’s Support Services, MSC brings the community together in eco-fashion, fun and is part of the movement towards ending gender-based violence. Our team of volunteers have firsthand experience bringing these two worlds together. Knowing the value that their service brings to supporting women and girls to live lives free from violence.
